OVUCC project gets support from Hazitek programme

The OVUCC project with file number (ZL-2023/00559) has obtained support from the Hazitek programme, an action co-financed by the Basque Government and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund 2021-2027 (FEDER).
This Research and Development (R&D) project focuses on the optimisation of the service life of slitting blades. Its main objective is to develop a predictive model capable of providing an accurate assessment of the wear of the blades used in the strip slitting lines located in the company's facilities.
The implementation of this project will allow VINCO to acquire detailed knowledge about the wear of the blades after each cutting cycle, taking into account all relevant variables. This approach, which will lead to a significant optimisation of blade life, will not only improve spare parts management, but is also expected to lead to a significant reduction in waste generation and energy consumption associated with production on each cutting line.
The Hazitek R&D aid programme has been designed to promote Research and Development Projects, both in SMEs and in large companies and associations of Basque companies.
The main objective of the programme is to contribute to the improvement of competitiveness, innovation and productivity of companies, through the financing of R&D projects.
