The WIROLL project with file number (ZL-2023/00561) has obtained support from the Hazitek programme, an action co-financed by the Basque Government and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund 2021-2027 (FEDER).
WIROLL focuses on optimising the production process of wire rolling, a key activity within VINCO's spectrum of operations, along with other transformation processes such as wire straightening, flattening and slitting.
This project aims to improve the resources involved in the rolling process, in order to adapt as precisely as possible to the needs of each customer. The implementation of WIROLL involves the development of a simulation calculation tool for each rolling mill, allowing a detailed analysis of variables that would not be possible to obtain under practical conditions.
The fundamental objective is to achieve a model with a minimum margin of error, which will facilitate adjustments capable of absorbing the variations inherent in the process. This, in turn, will benefit raw material sourcing and contribute to greater energy efficiency in the production of flat wire, square wire and customised profiles for our customers.
With WIROLL, VINCO aims to offer more agile and efficient responses to its customers' needs, while improving its energy efficiency in the rolling process.
