CHEMICAL COMPOSITION AND CHARACTERISTICS
Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin that is characterized by its golden color. At VINCO we have two chemical compositions for bronze wire consisting of copper and 6% and 8% tin respectively. The standard that affects the chemical composition and mechanical properties is EN 12166, which refers to the properties and dimensional tolerances of copper alloy wires produced by drawing, rolling or extrusion for general purposes and for the manufacture of springs and fasteners.
The bronze wire you will find in our catalog is corrosion resistant, perfect for applications in environments exposed to moisture or weathering. In addition, it has good electrical and thermal conductivity. Hardness and resistance to deformation are other characteristics of bronze wire that make it mechanically resistant for specialized applications.
FINISHES FOR BRONZE WIRE
The supply of bronze wire can be requested with a specific type of finish: tin-plated and nickel-plated. In addition, we give you the possibility to choose others on request that are not included in the Standard, such as brass plating, electro-zinc plating, nickel plating and plasticizing in different colors with PET.
SUPPLY AND PACKAGING OPTIONS
The options we offer you at VINCO for the packaging of brass wire are summarized in the following table:
