MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
Low carbon steel wire is characterized by being composed of a ductile and malleable material. In addition, it is an easy-to-weld product that is mainly used in the construction industry. The chemical composition of the selection available in our catalog has been subjected to casting analysis, which involves determining the proportion of different chemical elements present in the steel, including carbon. Depending on the quantity and combination of each of these elements, the properties of the steel are determined. The casting analysis is performed to ensure that the steel meets the quality and performance standards required for a specific application.
The mechanical characteristics of the low carbon steel wire are detailed in the corresponding section of the product data sheet.
Range: annealed, semi-hard or hard drawn gray.
Coating: uncoated and coated.
FINISHES, COATINGS AND TOLERANCES
VINCO offers four types of finishes for low carbon steel wires: galvanized, reinforced galvanized – ZA and reinforced ZA to protect the material from corrosion. There is also the possibility of supplying this type of wire with copper coating.
In addition to the coatings listed in Norma, we offer other options so that you can adapt your order to your needs: tin plating, brass plating, electro-zinc plating, nickel plating and plastic coating in different colors.
As regards the mass of the steel wire coating, it is determined according to the diameter measured in millimeters – according to EN 10244 – in three different groups: A, B and C (measured in g/m2).
In the tolerances section of the product data sheet are detailed all the specifications according to the nominal diameter, for the supply in straightened wire rod and the standard length tolerance.
SUPPLY AND PACKAGING POSSIBILITIES FOR LOW CARBON STEEL WIRE
Depending on the type and quality of the material, different packaging options are offered, which are detailed in the following table:
Formato de embalaje Peso máximo en kg
Roll 500
Orbit 1200
Rods –
With regard to product supply conditions, in addition to the type of packaging, when placing the order you can also select the type of palletizing – on rolls or on wheels -, the type of pallet – square or europallet – and the horizontal or vertical orientation of the reels. All our shipments of goods can be shipped with protective elements, at the customer’s choice, to protect the material: lid, VCI damp-proof paper, VCI damp-proof plastic, phytosanitary packaging, maritime packaging and damp-proof sacks.
